Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Soheil Ravasani ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the tamoom mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

tamoom is an offline-first to‑do and task management application for Android. The App stores your data locally on your device and works without an internet connection. Sign-in is optional: if you sign in with Google, the App can sync your task data across devices using our cloud backend. The App does not show ads.

  • Task data: to‑dos, projects, areas, sections, tags, notes, due dates, and other task‑related information you enter into the App.
  • Account data: if you sign in with Google, we receive the account identifiers Google provides for that sign-in (such as your Google user id and email) so we can authenticate you and attach synced data to your account.
  • Backup files: when you choose to export a backup, the App creates a JSON backup file that contains your task data so that you can save it or move it between devices.

Task data is always stored locally. If you are signed in, copies of that task data are also sent to our servers so it can sync across your devices. If you are not signed in, task data stays on the device (and in backup files you export) unless you later sign in.

The App stores technical information on the device such as:

  • Local database records required to operate the App.
  • Timestamps for when backups are created.
  • Basic application metadata (such as the app name and version) used only to organize backup folders and files on your device.

This local technical information remains on your device. Signed-in sync traffic goes to our backend as described above.

We use the information stored by the App solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide the core functionality of the App, including creating, editing, and managing your tasks, projects, and related data.
  • If you sign in, to sync your tasks, projects, and related data across devices.
  • To create and restore backups when you explicitly choose to export or import data.
  • To improve reliability and user experience locally on your device, for example by remembering your preferences.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing or advertising.

  • All task data is stored locally on your device using a local database and preferences storage. Local data remains the working copy on that device.
  • If you sign in with Google, we store synced copies of your task data on our servers (currently via Supabase) so you can use the same lists on another device.
  • When you choose to export a backup, the App writes a JSON file to a folder on your device (for example, your Downloads folder or another directory you select). You are responsible for managing, copying, or deleting these backup files.
  • When you import from a backup, existing data in the App may be replaced with the contents of the backup file you select. If you uninstall the App, locally stored data and settings may be removed from your device. If you were signed in, signing in again can restore synced lists. Backup files that you have exported to shared storage or other locations will not be automatically deleted.

To provide its functions, the App may request certain permissions, including:

  • Storage / file access: to read and write backup files in folders you choose (for example, Downloads/tamoom/backup) and to browse for backup files to restore.
  • Access to application information: to read the app name and version from the system to label backup folders and files.
  • Clipboard access: when you open the link field in a task, the App may check your clipboard to suggest recently copied text as a possible link. Clipboard contents are only used locally and are not stored or transmitted to any server.
  • Opening links in a browser: when you tap a link, the App uses the system's browser or another app (via the operating system) to open that URL. The App does not track which links you open.

Permissions are only used for the specific features described above.

If you sign in, Google processes your sign-in. Synced task data is stored with our cloud provider (Supabase). The App does not use advertising networks. Other libraries (for example UI, local database, file picking) run on the device. If we change these processors, we will update this policy.

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Sign-in is optional; we do not ask for age. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us through the App, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

You can:

  • View, edit, or delete your tasks and related data at any time from within the App.
  • Use the App without signing in. Sign in with Google only if you want sync.
  • Sign out in Settings to stop cloud sync on that device.
  • Delete backup files that you have exported by removing them from your device's storage.
  • Uninstall the App to remove its local data from your device (subject to your operating system's behavior).

If you back up your device or sync it with other services, copies of the App's data may be included in those backups according to the settings of those services. Signed-in copies on our servers remain until you delete your account data by contacting us (or until we provide an in-app delete-account control).

We take reasonable steps in the App's design to avoid unnecessary transmission of personal data. However:

  • No mobile application or storage method is completely secure.
  • The security of your device, operating system, and any backups you create (including cloud backups managed by your device vendor) is outside our control.

We recommend that you protect your device with a strong password or biometric lock and keep your operating system up to date.

We do not operate our own data centers. If you sign in, Google and our cloud provider (Supabase) may process your account and synced task data, including on servers outside your country. Saving backup files to third‑party storage you choose is also under your control.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
